It's been an exciting season for the Detroit Lions, both on the professional stage and in their community initiatives. The team and coaching staff have garnered multiple accolades and recognitions, fueling the enthusiasm of Detroit fans everywhere.

One of the notable honors awarded went to Chad Miller, the head coach of West Branch Ogemaw Heights High School, who was named the Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the Week for Week 5. This recognition came after his team's dramatic 41-34 victory over Clare. The win marked the team's first 5-0 start since 2007 and demonstrated the resilience and toughness Miller had instilled in his players, especially after he suffered a significant pre-season injury. Miller, coaching with a broken leg in a boot, exemplified the very toughness he demands from his players. He shared a humorous insight, stating, "Every single place I go, the refs think it’s funny, the other coaches think it’s funny. I got my nose in during a scrimmage. I dodged the Houghton Lake kid. I didn’t dodge our kid." MLive.

The Coach of the Week Program, in its 28th year, continues to support high school football in Michigan, having provided $503,000 through the years. Each week, a coach who exemplifies success on and off the field, character development, discipline, and player safety is selected. The program awards $12,000 annually thanks to contributions from the Lions and the NFL Foundation. Each week’s winner receives a $1,000 donation to their school’s football program, while the Coach of the Year, to be selected at the end of the season, will be awarded $3,000. Notably, each winner also receives a certificate signed by Lions' head coach Dan Campbell and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Detroit Lions.

But the applause isn't just limited to the grassroots level. The Lions' professional team has also been in the spotlight for high performance. Recently, Jared Goff, the Lions' quarterback, broke an NFL record by completing all 18 of his pass attempts against the Seattle Seahawks, finishing with a perfect 100% passing rate.
